The mug

and how ecommerce is really all about people buying from people

We've made the trip every year for over 20 years.

Two of us. Then three of us. And now four of us.

Each year a pilgrimage. Each year a few more grey hairs and rusty bones. I still get out in the sea on my trusty board. Since the age of 18, Gwithian has been my sanctuary.

And here we are the final day of our latest adventure. The last night on the beach. The last night watching the sunset so peacefully with Godrevy Lighthouse as the backdrop. This final night I ventured down alone. The calm before the storm of packing kid's bags and readying the Jeep for the journey home.

One last night in a place I hope to one day call home. One day.

It must have been half an hour I sat there. Watching. Waiting. Feeling the chill in the air. As the beach emptied I sat and witnessed the most glorious sunset. A fitting tribute to the week we'd just had.

Just me and my mug of hot chocolate. Serenely sipped as I watched on as Thursday's sun disappeared behind the sea. Just the same way it had for millions of Thursdays prior.

That moment. Just me and my hot chocolate.

I've owned my stainless steel Finisterre mug for years. It's been with me on the sidelines as I watched my son run around on a rugby field. It's been there on wintry nights as we sat watching the logs burn in our garden.

It was there with me that final night in Cornwall.

We're not in the business of selling products. We're selling moments. We're selling stories.

Don't get caught up in this trap of the marketing default.Sell with emotion. Sell with confidence. Sell with a smile.

Ecommerce is really about people buying from people.
